I am a Lecturer in the Politics of Gender at Newcastle University.

My PhD was awarded by University College London and won multiple awards, including the ECPR ECPG Joni Lovenduski Prize.

My research focuses on the relationships between gender, race and political representation.

I also consult on gender issues, including work for UN Women, UNESCO, the Developmental Leadership Program, the Pacific Leadership Program, DFAT/Australian Aid, and the Fawcett Society.
